If you also keep traveling on trains, then this announcement becomes really important for you. The department has made some changes for those who will travel by train. Let’s take a look at this new guideline of Railways in detail.
How Indina Railway Operates
The traveling of train is the most simplest and economical. That’s why most people would prefer it over any other means of travel. Railways has changed rules off and on under which it offers every good service to the passenger. Very recently, railways have announced yet another new guideline about which one of the rules that it defined was related to the sleeping of passengers in the train.
Indian Railways is a very extensive network of railways. Millions of people travel by them day in and day out. With these rules, every passenger must enjoy his journey and ensure the reach of a well-functioning railway network. Under this, talking too loudly, making too much noise, and listening to songs at nights will now cost the passengers dearly. Moreover, strict actions will be taken against the passenger for breaking the new rules.
New Rules For Night Travellers About Sleep
Previously, passengers could sleep up to 9 hours during the night journey, but with the new changes, this period is reduced to 8 hours. Previously, passengers were allowed to sleep from 9 pm till 6 am in AC coaches and in sleepers. But now, per the new Railway regulations, sleep hours are only from 10 pm to 6 am. That is, the sleeping time has now been reduced to 8 hours. This will apply to all the trains that have sleeping arrangements.
Passengers traveling by train will also have to follow these sleeping hours. As an aside, should any passenger on the upper or middle berth, in the course of the night, cause discomfort to your sleep by setting on your berth, you are entitled to request their presence on their berths during the hours of 10 PM to 6 AM. On the same lines, it could be equally possible for you to refuse a middle berth occupant if he or she happens to lower his or her berth during the day.
Rules Set Forth By The Indian Railways
No passenger can talk on a loud mobile phone at their seat or inside a compartment or coach. Loud music by a passenger is not permissible unless it is with earphones. No lights will be permitted from 10 pm, excepting the night light. After 10 pm, online food will not be served in train services.
However, you may order in advance food or snacks that will be served at night through e-catering. Otherwise, smoking, consuming alcohol, and any activity inside the train compartments are banned, and carrying any flammable substance is against the rules of Indian railways.
